Domestic airline operators have restored normal operations after a halt over the weekend due shortage of aviation fuel.

Domestic airline operators Antrak, Starbow, Fly540 and Africa World Airlines had their flights cancelled over the weekend due to shortage of aviation fuel.

The situation however normalized on Monday after supplies to the airline operators was restored.

The Chief Operating Officer of Africa World Airlines, Apiigy Afenu told Citi Business News, they have so far made some flights to Kumasi after receiving the aviation fuel.

“We actually operated a flight to Kumasi and back this morning and the one going to Tamale is about to take off.”

According to him, they had supply of the fuel from Goil “and we assume that there will be enough to go for the week. That is the assumption. They said they brought in fuel from Cote D’Ivoire and the Republic of Togo.”
