Despite difficulties in the 1990s, Dr. Kwesi Botcwey was the Finance Minister that turned Ghana's Economy round from the notorious trends of the 1970s to the early 1980s. In the decade before Dr, Botchwey became Finance Minister, GDP had grown by an average of negative 2% for the decade and inflation rates were in 3 digits-estimated between 119% and 123% between 1981 and 1983. So severe was the nation's economic performance that most of us left Ghana for green pastures in Nigeria. Those who remained, had to join quarterly queues to be able to buy any essential commodity like sugar, soap or milk. It was Dr. Kwesi Botchwey that turned the economy from negative growth to a positive growth and reduced inflation from 3-digits to 2-digits, which trend has been sustained to date. We can benefit from his rare experience.

Oh Ghana! When are we going to experience some real developement? When are we going to get a president who will really have Ghana at heart and stop the 'politrics'by puting together a bunch of thieves to only think about how to steal from Ghanaian to persistantly put citizens into thinking that mother Ghana has nothing to develop itself.Who doesn't know Kwesi Botchey and his then 'economic recovery program'and where it landed us as Ghanaians. We may as well forget about any meaningful developement and only hope and pray that 2012 come faster than expected so we can vote them out quickly, otherwise we can only say God save Ghana.Certainly, they are just preparing them patiently to see the best strategy ever invented to loot from the Ghanaian oil procedes,is it not a damn shame and pathetic?Well,I may sound rhethorical but it's the truth, think about it.

Kewsi Boatchwey was a disaster under Rawlings. I hope this time, he will adopt Free Market Principles. Government can not create jobs, it is the private sector which is the engine of growth. This is a FACT. Every 4 years, we hear the politicians say, we will create X number of jobs in X years. This is a BIG Lie.
